AI: The Somnium Files, which was scheduled for worldwide release on July 25, has been delayed. The information came in a statement from developer Spike Chunsoft itself, and the full statement is available on its blog.
The game's new release dates were also announced: September 17 in the Americas and September 19 in Japan, amounting to a delay of approximately two months.
The company said in the statement:
We apologize for the changes, but we wanted to assure our community that this was necessary to ensure the best possible quality for the product. We know fans are eagerly awaiting the title, and we will continue trying to meet those expectations.
The new release date for Europe is not yet known, but Spike Chunsoft told Gematsu that it will provide a new date for the region soon.

The title, which attracted some attention because it is by Kotaro Uchikoshi (director of the games in the Zero Escape franchise), tells the story of Kaname Date, a detective handling the case of a serial killer. To do so, he investigates crime scenes and the dreams of people involved. There are several routes to discover depending on the player's choice, and the story can only be fully understood after all of them have been explored.
AI: The Somnium Files will be released for Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.
