Frictional Games, the developer of the Amnesia franchise, said it is interested in bringing the series to Nintendo Switch and that it would be a very good fit for the console's handheld format.
Creative director Thomas Grip said in a recent interview: “I would love to bring the content to Switch. I grew up with Nintendo being the biggest platform, and releasing the game for one of this company's consoles would really be making video games for real.” Speaking about the hardware's portability, he said: “It would be cool to see it on a handheld, because I believe it would be a great fit for Amnesia and other games. We are looking at what can be done and, if everything happens as we hope, we will have it on Switch.”
The first two titles in the Amnesia franchise were released for PS4 in 2016 and later for Xbox One. On Microsoft's console, both were included in a collection called Amnesia Collection, which has an update that adds a hard mode that is not yet present in the PS4 version.
For those unfamiliar with Amnesia, it is a Survival Horror franchise in which we are unarmed and try to avoid enemies and solve puzzles. Its style is similar to the games in the Outlast franchise, which were recently ported to Switch.
