The release of Ubisoft’s highly anticipated game, Beyond Good and Evil 2, is still a long way off, but new images showing details of its gameplay were recently revealed.
Below, we can see a video demonstrating details of the game.
The images show that the game is truly enormous, with a wide variety of vehicles, weapons, and equipment. The graphics are beautiful and detailed, and the game can be played alone or in online cooperative mode. The city of Ganesha, shown in the video, is richly represented.
For those unfamiliar with the Beyond Good and Evil franchise, it is an action-adventure game produced and published by Ubisoft in 2003 for PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, and PC. In the game, we control Jade, an investigative reporter who, together with her companions, defends her homeland from a conspiracy involving aliens. One of the factors that makes the original game distinctive is that we need to have photographic evidence of the places we visit.
Today, Beyond Good and Evil is remembered as a major critical success, even receiving the award for best game of the year at the 2004 Game Developers Choice Awards, but it was a huge commercial failure, which was certainly responsible for the delay of its sequel.
There is still a great deal of mystery surrounding this title, which promises to be a high-quality game. There is not even confirmation of which platforms will receive Beyond Good and Evil 2.
What surprised everyone was that, apparently, the heroine of the first game, Jade, will be a villain in this new version, which takes place before the original adventure. It is believed that a beta test will be available to the public at the end of 2019 and that the game will be officially released in 2020.
