An unprecedented decision in the Brazilian justice system, granted on April 18, 2016, took the HaxReborn website offline, as well as the software of the same name, since they made illegal programs available for the game Point Blank, from Ongame.
With it, it was possible to "hack" the game and alter it as needed, modifying data and doing what gamers know as a "cheat," the famous "cheating" in games.
The argument given by Ongame's attorney, Dr. Helio Tadeu Brogna Coelho, who is also a specialist in the eSports scene, was that
“Selling, spreading or using these 'hacker' programs is a serious unlawful act that causes losses to the company and may eventually constitute a crime.”
The attorney believes that the favorable decision for OnGame "opens the door" for other illegal programs for other games to be taken offline.
“Other legal actions already under way in several regions of the country are proving effective in revealing the whereabouts of those who use anonymity to spread this type of program, and it is only a matter of time before the authors are reached”.
The official statement concludes by saying that Ongame will continue looking for, blocking and even suing websites that offer illegal programs: "All to look after the well-being of its users and ensure that nothing disrupts their time of fun."
