Recent news revealed that Activision and Bungie are ending their partnership, which was intended to last at least 10 years.

According to the report, with this separation, Bungie will have complete control of the Destiny franchise, becoming responsible for its development and distribution. Bungie's leadership apparently presented this split as something positive to the press and its employees because it will now have more freedom to handle the Destiny franchise.

It is believed that one reason for the split is also the influx of capital from the Chinese company NetEase, which made a 100-million-dollar investment in Bungie, thus becoming a minority shareholder in this promising studio.

Reports at the time stated that this influx of capital was intended to "help Bungie become a global entertainment studio with multiple franchises and also allow it to focus on being able to publish games on its own in the future".

For those who do not know, Bungie is a game developer founded in 1991, but it rose to prominence with the FPS (first-person shooter) game Halo while it belonged to Microsoft (2000–2007). In 2007, Bungie became independent again due to disagreements with the company that owns the Xbox brand. In April 2010, an agreement between Bungie and Activision was announced, with Destiny becoming the major result of this now-defunct partnership.

What about you? What did you think of the end of this partnership? Will it really be better for Bungie and the Destiny franchise?
