Beep, the sales division of Japanese company Sangatu Usagi no Mori, recently announced that it will begin developing a reboot of the classic 1991 shoot 'em up arcade game Fantastic Night Dreams Cotton. The title will be developed by Success, the same developer behind the previous titles, and for now it is being called Cotton Reboot. The game will be released for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC. Unfortunately, further details such as release dates and prices have not yet been announced.

According to the information available, Cotton Reboot is based on the version originally released for the Sharp X68000 computer, and there will be a new mode called Arrange Mode, in addition to the original version being available from the beginning for more nostalgic players. It is also worth noting that there are plans for the game to receive a physical edition, although we still do not know for which platforms.

Cotton

For those unfamiliar with it, Cotton is a shoot 'em up in which we control a witch on a broomstick. The series is relatively well known among Sega Saturn fans because of the games released for the console, as well as the first arcade version published by SEGA and versions for Mega Drive, Dreamcast, Neo Geo Pocket, among others. One of the title's standout factors is that the player can improve the attributes of their weapons by collecting items throughout the stages and killing enemies, similar to how we upgrade characters through experience gained in today's games.
