Dai Gyakuten Saiban, also known as The Great Ace Attorney, is a game in the Ace Attorney franchise released only in Japan in 2015. Series fans have repeatedly appealed to Capcom to finally translate the game (and its sequel) officially for the Western market, but without success. Dissatisfied, the Scarlet Study team has been translating the game into English and releasing its translation in episodes. Finally, this week, the translation was completed.

Although the game’s many Japanese peculiarities may have delayed or prevented Capcom from localizing it, series fans can now experience this spin-off set in the 19th century and follow the adventures of Naruhodou Ryunosuke, Phoenix Wright’s ancestor, in Victorian England. The game also features numerous historical and fictional figures, including Sherlock Holmes himself.
To play the title, you need a physical or digital version of the original Japanese game for Nintendo 3DS. The Android release will take place soon. Scarlet Study provides installation instructions for its translation on its website.
It is worth pointing out to Brazilian fans that Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice For All also recently received a translation, this time in Portuguese. In other words, if you are Brazilian, an Ace Attorney fan, and understand Portuguese and English, you have been receiving plenty of news.
There is no announcement or forecast for an official translation of Dai Gyakuten Saiban into any language other than Japanese.
