Relive the adventure that introduced the legendary Dante to the world with Devil May Cry, coming to #NintendoSwitch this summer
Capcom’s action game was originally released in 2001, exclusively for PlayStation 2, but it was rereleased in HD in 2018 as part of the Devil May Cry HD Collection. Since its debut, the series has received several games, with the latest being the acclaimed Devil May Cry 5, released in March this year. However, this is the first time a game in the franchise will be released on a Nintendo console.
The game follows Dante as he hunts demons, with a focus on combat and combos in the Hack ’n’ Slash style. Dante also has the Devil Trigger ability, which allows him to transform into a demonic creature and increase his power. In addition, there are puzzle and platforming elements.
Gameplay mixes different types of weapons
It is possible that the success of the Bayonetta series (also directed by Hideki Kamiya) on Nintendo consoles influenced Capcom to make the port, considering that the two games are similar.
So far, there is no further information about the port. Therefore, it is not known whether the game will be sold physically or digitally, or whether anything will be added to the game, including improvements and new modes. Depending on the success of the rerelease, Capcom may consider bringing more games in the franchise to Nintendo consoles.
