After a busy E3 week filled with Nintendo Switch game announcements, Nintendo took advantage of the fact that "the dust had settled" and formally announced more information about its new mobile game: Dr. Mario World.
A video offering more details about the app was released:
The gameplay is based on the Dr. Mario series itself, in which the player must use pills to create sequences of three or more matching colors and eliminate viruses. If viruses are part of one of these sequences, they are eliminated, and the level ends after all the viruses present have been cleared. In the app, there will be a limited number of pills to use in each level. Fans of series such as Tetris, Puyo Puyo, and Candy Crush should have no trouble getting used to the gameplay, since all of them have their similarities
Adapting to smartphone screens, each level's layout has been inverted, with capsules emerging from the bottom and moving toward the viruses at the top of the screen.

The interface shows the number of pills and viruses remaining
The game will be divided into worlds with several levels. More worlds will be added over time. To play each level, the player will spend one unit of energy, which recharges over time.

The worlds are corrupted by viruses
In addition to energy, there will be coins, obtained through normal play, and diamonds, which can also be purchased with real money. As the more valuable currency, diamonds can buy more energy, provide an alternative way to obtain unlockables, and grant one more attempt at a level.

The fact that pills do not appear on the screen automatically allows the player to plan their actions more carefully
In addition to Dr. Mario, the player can obtain other playable characters from the Super Mario franchise, including Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Toad, and Yoshi, all in their "Dr." versions, and each of them will have a special ability.

Dr. Toad's special ability selects 10 random spaces and eliminates the viruses in them
Dr. Mario World will be released for Android and iOS devices on July 10. More details are available in Portuguese on the game's official website.
