The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu revealed the first information about Dx2 Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation, a smartphone game recently announced by SEGA.

Check out the details below:

  • The scenario is being written by Makoto Fukami. Tatsuro Iwamoto is handling character design.
  • The protagonist, whose gender can be chosen by the player, will be able to summon demons through a smartphone using the Devil Downloader (Dx2) app.
  • Players will become members of the Liberators, a secret organization that protects the world, and will become involved in a conflict between Dx2 users.
  • The Liberators' hideout is a shared house in Akihabara. It includes facilities for demon fusion and strengthening, an item shop, and more.
  • There are "Aura Gates" where players will explore 3D dungeons, with the challenge being to see how far they can go.
  • Demons are represented with high-quality 3D graphics. Demon negotiation and the traditional skill-inheritance system will return, while original growth elements from this game will be added.
  • Players battle by commanding four demons, while the protagonist never fights personally. Combat uses the series' familiar "Press Turn" battle system. Hitting an enemy's weakness increases the number of actions available, while striking its strengths decreases that same number.
  • Character poses during dialogue scenes are animated and fully voiced.

SEGA will announce more details about Dx2 Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation at Tokyo Game Show 2017, taking place from September 21 to 24.
