Following the announcement of Command & Conquer Rivals for mobile devices, Eletronic Arts appears to be listening to fans who asked for rereleases of classics from the franchise, which had been somewhat forgotten.

For those unfamiliar with the franchise, Command & Conquer is a series of strategy games that began in 1995 and contributed greatly to laying the foundations of the well-known RTS genre, Real Time Strategy (estratégia em tempo real in Portuguese).

EA producer Jim Vessela wrote in a Reddit post that, like the fans, he also wants to see the series return to PCs and is already “exploring some interesting ideas about a remaster.” Apparently, this project would be released in 2020, when the franchise would celebrate its 25th anniversary.

There is already a great deal of speculation surrounding the news, such as which games in the franchise will be rereleased and whether they would come separately or in a collection, but these details have not yet been revealed.

As expected, Jim Vessela was asked whether the games would have the famous loot boxes, and the producer replied: “We do not intend to add any kind of microtransactions to a Command & Conquer Remaster.” We hope that will be the case.
