This Wednesday (6), Terry Bogard from the Fatal Fury franchise became available to download in Super Smash Ultimate, which reached version 6.0. The character's release followed alivestream presenting him and all the small tributes that came with him.
The livestream was presented by Masahiro Sakurai, director of the Super Smash Bros. franchise, and was notably long, reaching 48 minutes—longer than any other character presentation to date. Sakurai himself commented on the presentation's length and on how he would try to make future presentations shorter.
Terry has properties similar to Ryu and Ken, always facing his opponent and using special commands for certain moves. Other unique characteristics include the ability to cancel special-attack animations and perform a "counterattack" after dodging without moving. The power of his moves also changes depending on how the special-attack button is pressed.

New features in version 6.0 of the title, including the character, his stage, and Mii Fighter outfits.
The stage accompanying the fighter, King of Fighters Stadium, has no platforms and features invisible walls at the sides, making it similar to arenas in traditional fighting games such as Fatal Fury itself. However, these walls can be broken depending on how hard an enemy hits them. The stage comes with 50(!) songs not only from Terry's original franchise but also from across SNK, the company that created Fatal Fury, including franchises such as King of Fighters and Metal Slug. These songs can affect which characters appear in the setting, and they also come in large numbers, totaling 20 cameos.
One funny fact Sakurai mentioned is the reason for the absence of Mai Shiranui, the iconic Fatal Fury character who makes no appearance in the content accompanying Terry, either as a Spirit or as part of the King of Fighters Stadium setting: she is too sexy for the game. Sakurai laughed as he remarked that "Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a game for good boys and girls of all ages."

All Fighters Pass characters so far
Terry is the fourth character in the Fighters Pass for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which introduces new fighters as paid DLC. The fifth has not yet been announced. All characters will be revealed by February 2020.
