Even though the Dreamcast was officially discontinued in mid-2001, our favorite console has delivered great games thanks to dedicated fans and talented indie developers. A few months ago, the Dreamcast Junkyard site named an FPS that was being developed for the Dreamcast.
In a recent update, the developers working on this FPS announced that the game will be called In The Line of Fire ("In the Line of Fire"). This narrative-based FPS is being developed by indie developer Militia Studio, and a video of the game's demo was released, which you can watch below.
"The game will be an FPS. We will compress the game for better rendering quality, and I am very confident about that. Over the coming weeks, we plan to improve the artificial intelligence and solve some collision problems. The sound designer will replace the generic effects with new and better ones, and this is only a sample of what we can do. The fully finished demo will be far superior to the Alpha we sent out for evaluation. We have a major next step prepared for our work, and it is closer than you might imagine."
The game will be on Kickstarter soon, as announced, which will help fund its development. We are excited to see the progress of In The Line of Fire! Here is the video:
