As the release of Mortal Kombat 11 approaches, NetherRealm Studios has been revealing the game's base characters, meaning those included from the start without any additional content to download.
Only one character remained to be revealed, and a recent livestream announced the fighter Frost.
Frost was introduced to the franchise in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance (2002), and is an apprentice of Sub-Zero who became an evil and arrogant cyborg. Her last appearance as a playable character was in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon (2006), and she has had smaller roles in other games in the series since then.
With her announcement, Frost completes the 25 characters that will be present at the launch of Mortal Kombat 11 (including Shao Kahn, who will be a preorder bonus). Although Frost is the last base character in the game to be announced, the game will still feature six DLC characters. The first DLC-exclusive fighter will be Shang Tsung, and the others have yet to be announced.

Even so, data referring to nine characters (including Shang Tsung himself) was found in the game's files, potentially leaking all the characters that will still be revealed. Some of these fighters may not make it into the final version of the game, and the data may simply be leftover material from discarded characters. But the possibility of having nine DLC characters cannot be ruled out.
Mortal Kombat 11 will be released on April 23 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
