The Game Awards, a presentation dedicated to honoring the best games of the year, had a few surprises for fans of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Persona 5.

Joker from Persona 5 will join the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster as a playable character via the “Challenger Pack 1” DLC, the first of a total of five DLCs planned for the game, each of which includes a new playable character, a new stage, and new songs. By purchasing the “Fighters Pass” for US$24.99, the player will gain access to all five Challenger Packs, which individually cost US$5.99.

Read a description of the character provided by Nintendo:

The games in the Persona series are a spin-off of the popular Shin Megami Tensei franchise, which has a long history in the world of video games, with many of the games appearing on Nintendo platforms. With his iconic mask and a variety of weapons, Joker is the main character of Persona 5, a beloved game that won the award for best RPG and was nominated for game of the year at The Game Awards last year.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate arrives today, December 7, worldwide on Switch.
