In a recent announcement made by SEGA, a trailer was revealed to the public in which the Judgment character Kyohei Hamura was remodeled. This change had already been announced by the company in March of this year, since the actor responsible for the character's original image, Pierre Taki, was arrested on charges of using cocaine, which is illegal under Japanese law.
In the previous announcement, SEGA had already stated that it would change not only Hamura's model but also his voice; however, the character's movements and lip sync would remain the same. According to reports, this new model is original.
For those unfamiliar with it, Judgment is an action-adventure game developed and published by SEGA. It was initially called Project Judge during its development and is a spin-off of the famous Yakuza franchise. The game became famous because of the controversy surrounding its removal from the market in March 2019 due to the arrest of one of the actors who brought one of its characters to life.
Judgment was initially released for PlayStation 4 in Japan on December 4, 2018, and will arrive in the West on June 25, 2019.
Below is a trailer comparing the two versions.
