The appearance of a Nintendo Switch accessory for Overwatch, licensed by Nintendo itself, sparked discussion about possible announcements. The accessory in question is a case for the console featuring the logo of the hero shooter.

The case appeared on Amazon, listed by PowerA, a company that already works with licensed products such as controllers and accessories. The product's purchase link was taken down, raising the possibility that it had been listed “ahead of time.”

Since the game has not been released for any Nintendo console, some speculate that the product represents a “partnership” between Nintendo and Blizzard, which could mean that Overwatch will be released for Nintendo Switch in the near future.

Jeff Kaplan, Blizzard vice president and Overwatch designer, has never ruled out bringing the game to Switch. In 2017, Jeff said he was open-minded, but still acknowledged that bringing the game to Nintendo's hybrid console would be a challenge for the team.

The fact also raises a rather curious possibility: an Overwatch representative in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Considering all the Fighters Pass characters revealed so far, a fighter from Overwatch would certainly match the grand scale of each announcement.

Among the game's countless heroes, the one with the best chance would be Tracer, the title's “poster girl.” She is by far the character most associated with Overwatch because of the many promotional materials featuring the heroine.
