On Tuesday, July 16, 2019, Microsoft announced the six major games that would join the Xbox Game Pass library by the end of July.
Below is the complete list of games:
- Night Call – July 17;
- Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain – July 18;
- The Banner Saga 3 – July 18;
- For the King – July 25;
- Killer Instinct: Definitive Edition – July 25;
- Resident Evil 4 – July 25.
The interesting thing is that three of the six listed games are considered highly important to the video game industry and deserve to be highlighted:
- Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain was Hideo Kojima’s farewell to one of the biggest franchises in gaming history. Its open-world experience generated controversy among series fans, but the title still performed well and was highly rated by critics when it was released;
- Resident Evil 4 is the highest-rated title in Capcom’s classic horror franchise. Although many people complained about the greater focus on action during the adventure, its positive influence on the shooting genre is undeniable, so it is no exaggeration to say that every TPS action title (third-person shooter) carries some influence from it;
- Killer Instinct: Definitive Edition – even though fighting games are not as popular today, Killer Instinct was one of the major games at the Xbox One launch. It deserves to be considered one of the best in its genre in recent years, given the game’s high production quality.
