Sonic made his presence felt at E3 through the Olympics. More details about Sonic at the Olympic Games were recently released, and now it is the turn of the Switch version of the biggest sports crossover in gaming history.

The new game aims to correct the mistakes of its predecessor, Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, which was criticized for its lack of content. One element returning for this title that made fans happy is Dream Events, a game mode that places the characters in settings from the Mario and Sonic franchises instead of the Olympic context.
The return of Dream Events was confirmed during the playable E3 demonstration
A possible new mode was also revealed in the trailer: "1964 Mode," which aims to honor the last time the Olympics took place in Tokyo, in 1964. To fit the tribute's context a little better, the characters take on their retro appearances during competitions. This could also imply that characters such as Shadow and Silver, who emerged during Sonic's modern era, may receive classic designs for this mode.

Images from the game were released as well, providing a more detailed look at the characters' new designs for the title, especially the Sonic cast, who now wear sports outfits better suited to each event instead of simply using their traditional clothing.
The game's cover was also revealed, showing Mario and Sonic proudly displaying their medals.

Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will be released for Switch in November.
