Probably the main announcement at The Game Awards this year was the upcoming release of Mortal Kombat 11. Its release date is set for April 23, 2019, and it will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.

The latest information tells us that a beta version for testing will be available as early as March, but only for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, excluding the Switch and PC versions.

Access to this beta version will be available to those who preorder the game, but no further details have been released yet. It is worth noting that those who buy the game in advance will also have access to the character Shao Kahn as a playable character right from the start.

NetherRealm, the studio developing Mortal Kombat 11, has already announced that there will be an event scheduled for January 17, 2019, where the first gameplay footage from the game will be shown during a presentation, thus demonstrating the new features of this new title to the press.

Apparently, the plot of Mortal Kombat 11 will involve "folds in time," since we can see two Scorpions from different eras of the franchise. This leads us to believe in the possibility of playing as the same character with various forms of gameplay, just as we saw in the classic Mortal Kombat Trilogy.
