Developer Triangle Service and publisher Mebius recently announced that Arcade Love: Plus Pengo, originally released for Xbox 360 in 2014, will arrive on Switch on August 22, 2019, not only digitally but also in physical form.

For those who do not know, Arcade Love: Plus Pengo! is a port of the Arcade Love compilation, released in Japan in 2012, with a PC version released through Steam. The only difference is the addition of Pengo. The compilation's highlight is precisely Pengo, an obscure 1982 SEGA arcade game that is reimagined here as a widescreen game for multiple simultaneous players.
Below is a brief description of the titles included in the compilation:
1 . Action-Game Skill Test
Simply defeat enemies one after another, move the joystick quickly to be fast, play Whack-A-Mole, or play Ding Dong Ditch. Action-Game Skill Test is an action game that includes these humorous minigames and measures your action-game skills.
2 . Shmups Skill Test
Shmups Skill Test was originally included in the arcade game Shooting Love. 2007 and attracted a wide range of players. One interesting and unprecedented feature was that it could measure players' ages. While preserving the original feature, Shmups Skill Test has now been updated to support up to four players, even on a horizontal screen.
To measure gaming skills as players improve, you play several minigames, such as simply defeating enemies one after another, only dodging enemy bullets, or putting empty cans in the trash.
3 . CombatZeal
The first local multiplayer shooter played across multiple screens. CombatZeal is a spaceship game focused on chasing high scores, with the screen divided according to the number of players. The stages vary in gameplay style: one offers straightforward score attack, one makes all enemies on your screen disappear if you cannot shoot faster than the other players, and one lets you obstruct other players by collecting power-ups.
4 . Pengo
An enhanced version of the action-puzzle game released by SEGA for arcades, in which players progress while crushing enemies with ice blocks. In addition to a single-player arcade mode, individual and team matches, with two players per team, supporting up to eight simultaneous players will also be available.
