This April, Nintendo will release version 3.0 of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, known as the “spring update,” which will add new content to the game. In particular, Joker from Persona 5 will be released as the first of five playable characters exclusive to the Fighters Pass DLC package.
So far, Nintendo has shown only the character's in-game model from behind, with no gameplay or artwork. But retailer Best Buy's website apparently accidentally leaked the character's official artwork—its render.
The leak was discovered by Twitter user @TheRileyLittle, and after searching extensively, the GameXplain news channel team could not find the artwork anywhere else, confirming that it is new and probably official. It is unlikely that the art was made only for the announcement, given that the company works with official content.
This is everything officially revealed about Joker so far
Leaks by retail companies are not unusual. They usually happen because of protocol failures with suppliers, who deliver products to stock stores ahead of official announcements or releases. This has caused leaks of various products, especially games, on many occasions.
The company apparently removed the listing from its website. It is still unknown what else will be in version 3.0 of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate or when more news will arrive.
