Available now on Poki, One More Line is another of those fun, addictive games focused entirely on player skill. Here, we control an object that starts out moving in a straight line inside a corridor full of obstacles. Our objective is to travel as far as possible without hitting those obstacles or the corridor walls along the way. Developed by SMG Studio, the title is available free of charge for mobile devices. It is worth noting that the Steam version is paid, but offers the advantage of allowing up to four people to play simultaneously.
The gameplay is simple: the object we control moves automatically, and the player uses a single button to latch onto obstacles (the space bar when playing on a PC). From that moment, we begin circling the object as though attached by a string. When we release the button, we are launched again along a tangent to the circle's position at that moment, continuing forward through the corridor. It may sound a little complicated when described this way, but after just 30 seconds of gameplay, everyone understands the objective and begins to develop some skill.
The graphics are extremely simple, but the game needs nothing more to be fun. In fact, we end up creating the graphics ourselves through the lines we draw during gameplay.
The soundtrack may be the greatest highlight of One More Line, often making it feel as though we are in a nightclub, which suits the title's frantic premise very well.
The fun is substantial and intense, making One More Line the perfect kind of game to enjoy in a bank line or while riding a bus or train. With simple gameplay, a good soundtrack, and a casual feel, the title can occupy us for hours over time without us even noticing.
The game's replay value comes from how much fun it is and from the player's desire to beat their high score. One More Line really is the kind of game you think you will not like, only to realize that you have been playing for quite a while and cannot wait to stand in another bank line or catch another bus.
