One of the biggest surprises of the latest E3, not only for Sega fans but also for anyone who enjoys a good rail shooter, was the announcement that the remake of the Sega Saturn classic, Panzer Dragoon, would be coming to Nintendo Switch in the first half of 2020. Now, a few weeks after the major event, new information about the game has been made public.

According to a Polish blog called Strefain, the company responsible for the remake, Forever Entertainment, said it had not imagined that the public would react so positively to the announcement of Panzer Dragoon during Nintendo’s presentation at E3 2019.

At the time, several major details were made public, including the company’s plans to remake a classic franchise every 12 or 18 months; confirmation that the sequel, Panzer Dragoon Zwei, is already in production; the announcement that it will soon release a thank-you trailer featuring fans’ reactions; and the information that Panzer Dragoon Remake will have a physical release, at least for now, only on Switch.

Unfortunately, not everything that was said is cause for celebration. Forever Entertainment also said that its budget for doing everything it wants is small, meaning that its future games will only be produced if Panzer Dragoon Remake achieves significant sales, making the development of those future games possible.
