Persona 5 gameplay remained a mystery for a long time, and even images of the game were scarce for Western audiences. At this year's E3, Atlus held a special Persona 5 presentation showing some of what fans could expect. Excited fans filled the presentation area while Atlus representatives handed out hats representing Morgana, everyone's favorite feline.

The scenes in Persona 5 take place in April and remind veteran fans of the day-and-night cycle. Like other games in the series, Persona 5 has a social aspect and a dungeon aspect. The footage shows the protagonist spending time at school, where he begins forming bonds with new friends. The video also reveals some of the different part-time jobs you can choose, including flower shops and convenience stores. When you are not working, you can spend time with friends, study, watch a movie, and much more.

As shown in the video, Morgana apparently follows you wherever you go, and you will also receive text messages from classmates informing you about certain deadlines and topics that help advance the story.

Once you finish the social side of your day, you move on to the dungeons, where the action really takes place. There, stealth is the name of the game, and you are expected to use the environment to make a surprise attack.

About the Persona series

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona is a series of RPGs developed by Atlus. It began as a spin-off of the same developer's Megami Tensei franchise and became more famous than the main series, especially in the West. The series began with Revelations: Persona, released for the first PlayStation in 1996.

All games in the series take place in the same universe and share certain common elements. They typically involve groups of student protagonists and take place in modern-day Japan, with a strong focus on occult plots of world destruction and rebirth, potential "messiahs" and "antichrists," as well as an endless number of "Personas," which provide characters with special abilities and spells in battle during the story, influenced by cultures and religions from our real world.
