Many new details about Persona 5 were announced during the "Premium Event Niconico" broadcast. Among them was the video featuring the opening animation!
Opening Animation
The Persona series has some of the most artistic opening animations in all of gaming, and Persona 5 confirms this with its magnificent opening produced by Production I.G.
Gameplay
The first 18 minutes of gameplay from the Japanese version were also released (contains spoilers!!!).
Atlus also revealed Cooperation Characters at the event. These are the characters you and your friends will meet throughout the game. Whether at school or in the city, these people possess special skills and abilities. If their beliefs align with yours and you build a relationship of mutual trust with them, you can establish a cooperative relationship that will allow you to use their abilities.
These are the seven new Cooperation Characters:
Hifumi Togo (voiced by Tomomi Isomura)
Hifumi Togo is a young woman who attends Kosei Public High School and holds the title of Shogi League champion. According to Atlus, she gained attention as "the most beautiful shogi player" (watch out, SJWs). She practices and gives interviews every day because of her mother and for the world of shogi, but...
Toranosuke Yoshida (voiced by Keiichi Noda)
Toranosuke Yoshida gives speeches outside Shibuya Station. Since he began making his speeches 20 years ago, he has lost seven consecutive elections. Toranosuke is largely ignored, as few people stop to listen to him, even though his speeches are actually good. He is a serious person confronting the country's future. At his stand, a sign reads: "Friendly society, bright future."
Sadayo Kawakami (voiced by Mai Fuchigami)
Sadayo Kawakami is the teacher at Syujin High School in charge of Class 2-B, which includes our main characters. You can follow her during class, with her hair down and a constantly sleepy expression. Cavern of Memories
The Cavern of Memories is an automatically generated infinite cavern separate from the main game. You will be able to explore the cavern's vast map by riding Morgana, who can transform into a bus, and you will have the ability to set out on free missions.
First TV Commercial: Protagonist
Atlus announced that it will run TV commercials in Japan for eight weeks beginning on July 25! The first commercial focuses on the story's protagonist.

The anime will air during September:

Atlus also announced that there will be an online Persona 5 comic available on Ura Sunday, scheduled to begin on the day the game is released in Japan, September 15.
Persona 20th Anniversary Festival
Although we already knew about the festival, we now know the date: the Persona 20th Anniversary Festival will take place from December 8 to 18 at Arts Chiyoda in Tokyo, Japan.
Japanese Tour to Try Persona 5
Atlus announced that it will hold a Persona 5 gameplay "trial tour" in Japan. Now that is confidence in your product!
The "storefront" events, which include 10 to 15 minutes of game trial time, will take place on the following dates, times, and locations:
- July 30, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., in Osaka, at Joshin Disk Pier Nihonbashi;
- August 6, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in Tokyo, at the Akihabara UDX Gallery;
- August 13, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in Hokkaido, at the Yodobashi Camera Multimedia Sapporo Store Special Corner;
- August 21, from noon to 7 p.m., in Aichi, at the Animate Nagoya Special Site (Third Taiko Building);
- August 27, from noon to 7 p.m., in Fukuoka, on the fifth floor of Yoyogi Animation Gakuin.

Persona 5 will also be present at this year's Tokyo Game Show, which will take place from September 15 to 18. The game will arrive on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in Japan on September 15 of this year and in America on February 14, 2017.
