ATLUS announced that Persona 5 will arrive in North America on February 14, 2017. In addition to the release date, the company also detailed the different editions available for pre-order.

The standard version of Persona 5 can be yours for US$59.99 on PlayStation 4 and US$49.99 on PlayStation 3. If you pre-order the game on PS4, you receive a limited Steelbook edition at no additional cost. For more enthusiastic PS4 fans, there is also the “Take Your Heart” collector’s edition.

The collector’s edition will include the game’s Steelbook version, a 10 cm Morgana plush, a 64-page hardcover art book, a life-size replica of the Shujin Academy schoolbag, the soundtrack, and a collector’s box. The “Take Your Heart” edition will cost US$89.99. The edition’s name is quite interesting, since the game will be released on the date celebrated as Valentine’s Day in the United States.

Although many of us expected Persona 5 to come out this year, better late than never, right?

About the Persona Series

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona is a series of RPGs developed by Atlus. It began as a spin-off of the developer’s Megami Tensei franchise and became more famous than the main series itself, especially in the West. The series began with Revelations: Persona, released for the first PlayStation in 1996.

All games in the series take place in the same universe and share certain common elements. They typically involve groups of student protagonists and take place in modern-day Japan, with a strong focus on occult plots involving world destruction and rebirth, potential “messiahs” and “antichrists,” as well as an infinite number of “Personas,” which provide the characters with special abilities and battle magic throughout the story, influenced by cultures and religions from our real world.
