A T-shirt design that would have appeared in the gamesPokémon Sword & Shield after winning a contest was disqualified and therefore will no longer be in the title.
The contest, called UT GRAND PRIX DESIGN, consisted of submitting T-shirt designs to Uniqlo, the Japanese clothing brand that organized the competition. More than 18,000 participants competed for first place, which would have brought the honor of having their design appear in Pokémon Sword & Shield as a trainer customization option.
The winner had been announced that week by Uniqlo, and it was a T-shirt with illustrations of the Pokémon Magikarp and its evolution, Gyarados.

The reason for the disqualification was that the artist had previously sold this design, which went against the contest rules. At the time of publication, none of the other designs will be implemented in the game.
Curiously, it was this contest that confirmed the games would feature character customization, as that had not been addressed in trailers or official announcements. Customizable clothing has been present in most main-series Pokémon games since Pokémon X & Y (2013), so this is not much of a surprise.
More information about Pokémon Sword & Shield will be revealed in the June issue of the Japanese magazine CoroCoro, as well as probably before then at E3 2019, which will take place in the same month.
