Double Fine came forward on July 10, 2019, to report that its anticipated title announced at The Game Awards 2018, Psychonauts 2, had been delayed to 2020, still with no exact date for its arrival on the market.
Below is the announcement published on Double Fine's official website:
Now, before you panic! We stand by our promise and will release Psychonauts 2 for all previously announced platforms, including PlayStation 4 (...) There will be no other changes for now, with one exception: we are planning the release for next year.
For those unfamiliar with it, Psychonauts, despite not being a very famous title, was a great critical success when it was released for PlayStation 2, the original Xbox and PC in 2005. The product of designer Tim Shafer's incredible creative mind, this innovative platform game has us control a young man with psychic abilities who runs away from the circus to infiltrate a summer camp for gifted people. Our character, Razputin, can enter people's minds, helping them overcome their fears and other problems.
In addition to being available on Xbox Game Pass when it is released, Psychonauts 2 will also have versions for PlayStation 4, PC, Mac and Linux.
Below is the first official Psychonauts 2 trailer, shown during The Game Awards 2019.
