After taking to Twitter to speak about losing two characters he voiced, Mexican actor Lalo Garza, who provided the voices of Kung Lao and Reptile, as well as many other familiar characters in video games and anime in Latin America, did not seem happy when he indicated that a new game in the Mortal Kombat series was in development.

In his tweet, he questioned Pink Noise studio's decision to remove him from the characters whose original voices he performed and discussed how this could affect consumers.

So I can finally confirm that the ‘professionals’ at Pink Noise Studios decided to take my Mortal Kombat XI characters away from me. How sad that a company I liked so much ended up making decisions that affect all of you so much. Goodbye, Kung Lao and Reptile,” Garza tweeted.

The fact that he is no longer involved in the project shows that voice recording has already begun and that the game's development may be further along than expected, possibly even in its final polishing stages. It has also been seven years since the release of the previous game in the series, Mortal Kombat X.

Neither NetherRealm studio nor saga creator Ed Boon has yet spoken either for or against the signs that a new Mortal Kombat is in development. However, The Game Awards is approaching, and there may be a strong chance that Mortal Kombat XI will be announced at the event later this year.
