Although the company has not yet announced anything about a new game in the NiGHTS series being in development, the name suggests that it may be a game related to the franchise.
And for those who fear that it may be a mobile or pachinko game, the words 家庭用テレビゲーム (Game for a home console), ROMカートリッジ (ROM Cartridge) and 光ディスク (Optical Disc) are included in the trademark description (in Japanese), which suggests that it will be a new title for consoles.
The first game in the series was released on Sega Saturn in 1996, followed by a 2008 remake on PlayStation 2 only in Japan, which was later remastered for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC worldwide in 2012. A sequel called NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams was also released for Wii in 2007.
