Following the same premise and graphical style as its predecessor, the endless runner Run 3 relies on its wealth of content to set itself apart. While the previous game had two playable characters, there are now nine, but they will be unlocked as you progress through the stages.
Speaking of stages, this game features two modes: Explore and Infinite. The first asks you to overcome challenges and progress through stages until you "beat" the game, while Infinite, as the name suggests, has a map that is built endlessly.
In the second mode, there are also collectible items that work as a kind of "currency" from RPGs for unlocking the character you want. In other words, once you reach an "X" amount, you can acquire that character.
Another difference is that the maps are less horizontal and now have a tunnel shape, making them more spacious and giving them greater capacity for exploration. There is also a map that shows how far you have gone.
Otherwise, the gameplay remains intact: the character runs on their own, and you use the keyboard's arrow keys to move left or right. The space bar makes the character jump, the "P" key pauses the game, and "R" resets it. A wall can be turned into the floor simply by "moving" toward it.
It is also notable that Run 3 seems more accessible than the second game in terms of difficulty, with slightly less challenging stages, which should appeal to less experienced players. Finally, the visuals and soundtrack remain excellent.
Run 3 has the elements of a typical Poki game: it is simple, well made, has intuitive gameplay, and is an excellent option when you want a distraction one afternoon or during breaks at work.
