SEGA and developer ACE Team, responsible for games such as Rock of Ages and Zeno Clash, have announced SolSeraph, a new fantasy action game coming digitally to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC through Steam on July 10 for US$14.99.

The game strongly resembles a 16-bit-era classic called ActRaiser and is already being nicknamed ActRaiser 3 by many people. It even features music by Yuzo Koshiro, famous for soundtracks to games such as Streets of Rage and The Revenge of Shinobi, who coincidentally—or not—also composed the music for ActRaiser.

About

SolSeraph places you in the wingtip shoes of an all-powerful deity charged with rebuilding civilization while protecting the people from the constant threat of demons and mythical monsters!

In the beginning, there was only chaos... until one day, when Sky Father and Earth Mother drove out Chaos and made the world. They made the stars and the sun and the waters and the land. Then they made plants and animals and, finally, their favorite creation: humanity. When they were finished, Sky Father and Earth Mother left the world so it could grow freely on its own.

But the younger gods were arrogant and cruel, so they tormented humanity with fires, storms, and floods until all the tribes were scattered across the land, struggling to survive. But Helios, Knight of Dawn, the son of god and man, came to humanity's aid.

Key Features

Restore Humanity to Prosperity - Balancing 2D action and top-down strategy elements, carefully guide each tribe from the clouds above to help expand its territory and dispel the dark fog surrounding its lands. Once every creature lair has been exposed, you must take on the role of Helios to confront the monsters directly.

Fight the Enemy - Armed with his sword, shield, and magical archery, Helios will need to face a range of enemies, including goblins, beastmen, bat riders, and many more on his way to confront the Younger God who controls them. Defeating these challenging enemies will grant Helios new magical powers such as healing herbs and ice shards.

Protect the Homeland - Help each tribe determine how to shape its village, using a range of different units, from houses and farms that sustain the growing population to warrior barracks and archer towers that defend against waves of monster attacks.

Help from Higher Powers - Yuzo Koshiro, the legend behind many classic video game soundtracks, composed SolSeraph's opening theme. In addition, acclaimed writer Jonas Kyratzes (The Talos Principle, The Sea Will Claim Everything) lent his talents to create the game's compelling narrative.
