SEGA announced that the 3D robot action games Cyber Troopers Virtual-On, Cyber Troopers Virtual-On: Oratorio Tangram and Cyber Troopers: Virtual-On Force will come to PlayStation 4 through the PlayStation Store in Japan.
The games will be based on their arcade versions, including the latest 5.66 version in the case of Virtual-On: Oratorio Tangram. All of them will be compatible with the Twin-Stick Project Z, a special controller for the game made by Tanita that is currently in a crowdfunding campaign on Campfire. In addition, they will all support online battles.
Cyber Troopers Virtual-On was first released in arcades in 1996, receiving a Sega Saturn version in 1996 and a PC version in 1997. Cyber Troopers Virtual-On: Oratorio Tangram arrived in arcades in 1998, followed by a Dreamcast version in 2000 and another for Xbox 360 in 2009. Finally, Cyber Troopers Virtual-On Force arrived in arcades in 2001 and, unlike the previous games, was not released for consoles at the time, but eventually came to Xbox 360 in 2010 only in Japan. In its place, Cyber Troopers Virtual-On: Marz was released in 2003, a game derived from Force but with numerous additions for the home market.
