Fans of the Yakuza series know what it feels like to have content cut when games localized from Japan come to the West, as previously happened with Yakuza 3. But if you were worried about the possibility of the game having parts cut or censored, you no longer need to worry.
Sega Public Relations Representative John Hardin confirmed this in an email to the Censored Gaming channel. "Production confirmed that no gameplay features were removed. In fact, our demo at E3 and the GameStop Expo included a scene where you had to train the BSDM lady," he said. "Kamurocho and Sotenbori in Yakuza 0 are more intact than ever."
Players will be able to watch videos of Japanese "idols" and even take part in minigames featuring fights between women, as well as spend time in parlors and make suggestive advances toward women over the phone. This is certainly great news for those of us who prefer Japanese games to be uncensored and as close as possible to the original developers' vision.
Yakuza 0 will be released on January 24 for PlayStation 4 in the Americas and Europe. If you are interested in preordering it, you can do so at this link, which will guarantee you a special edition of the game with some extra items. Watch Censored Gaming's video on the subject below (in English):
