SEGA has just created a new division in Taiwan called SEGA GAMES CS. The division's goal is to promote localizations of selected games in Taiwan into Traditional Chinese.
During a meeting, many titles had already been announced for localization between late 2016 and early 2017, with some initially scheduled for release at some point in 2017.
Most notably, the list includes titles without an announced Western release, such as Puyo Puyo Chronicle and Yakuza 6.
This commercial move to promote localized releases for the Taiwanese market through SEGA GAMES CS is the result of SEGA Japan's decision to prioritize the Asian market, with SEGA Taiwan specifically having existed since 2014. Seeing games that never left Japan localized into Traditional Chinese is not exactly new, since many of them, such as Phantasy Star Nova and Shining Resonance, were localized into this language shortly after their Japanese releases, even though some of these games never came West.
Below is a list of all announced titles:
November:
- Psycho-Pass (developed by 5pb and published in the West by NIS America).
December:
- Hatsune Miku: VR Future Live;
- Puyo Puyo Chronicle;
- SEGA 3D Archives 3: Final Stage;
- Yakuza 6.
January:
- Valkyria: Azure Revolution.
No date announced yet:
- Persona 5;
- Chaos Child (developed and published by 5pb, released only in Japan);
- An unannounced title that appears to be Puyo Puyo Tetris.
