Metacritic, a website that averages the scores games and movies receive from professional critics, created a list of the best publishers of 2017 according to an average of the scores for all the games released that year.

SEGA appears in third place on the list, behind only Bethesda Software and Nintendo, but ahead of major publishers such as Capcom, Ubisoft, Square Enix, Sony and Activision Blizzard. SEGA's overall average was 75.5%, with the best game being Bayonetta at 90% and the lowest being Valkyria Revolution at 55%.
