SEGA recently came forward to share a new version of its classic “Genesis Does” commercial for its Mega Drive Mini. There is no doubt that the ad seeks to reach the company's longtime consumers in the best way: “if you want nostalgia, then here you go.”
With approximately one month until the console's launch, this marketing move could not have worked out better, leaving everyone eagerly awaiting September 19, 2019, the console's official release date.
The reason for this commercial was not only the arrival of its mini version, but also the 30th anniversary of the Genesis's launch (the Mega Drive's name in the United States) on American soil, which took place on August 14. Below is SEGA's official statement:
