SEGA announced that the SEGA Genesis Classics (or SEGA Mega Drive Classics) collection, released on May 29 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, will arrive on Switch in physical and digital editions this winter (Brazilian summer).
When the PS4 and Xbox One versions were released, many people asked SEGA to make a Switch version. It was speculated that the reason was that Switch would receive individual releases with improvements by M2 in the SEGA AGES collection, but now we will also have the previous collection. However, the only games present in both collections are Sonic 1 and 2, so one does not cancel out the other.

Following the SEGA AGES titles announced last week and ready to launch during the Tokyo Gaming Show, SEGA continues the winter by bringing great classics to the portable Switch. Retro fans can finally play the Genesis / Mega Drive collection on the way to school or work, during their lunch break, or basically anywhere!
SEGA Genesis Classics / SEGA Mega Drive Classics has more than 50 retro favorites to enjoy across every genre: arcade action, shooters, beat 'em ups, puzzles, and obscure games, with a series of modern features. Exclusively for Nintendo Switch, players can now compete in local co-op on the same screen and use each Joy-Con individually if desired.
Familiar features such as online multiplayer, achievements, mirror modes, a rewind function, and save states are part of the collection so everyone can revisit and enjoy it.
