The SEGA AGES collection, developed by M2 for Switch, arrives in the West today with its first two games: Sonic the Hedgehog and Lightening Force (Thunder Force IV in Japan and Europe). For those who do not know, unlike the other titles in the Thunder Force series, the fourth game's name was changed when it was released in the United States, which explains the different name. Even so, it is a little strange that SEGA of America decided to keep this name, considering the franchise's history and the fact that all fans of the series now know that this is the fourth game.

Each game includes several settings and new features. In Sonic the Hedgehog, for example, players will be able to use the Spin Dash and Drop Dash, which were not in the original version, as well as the rare Mega-Play arcade version. Thunder Force IV will have Styx Mode (the Thunder Force III ship from the Sega Saturn version of the game) and online leaderboards. Both also include saves, different resolutions, and other features.
