Originally released in 2012, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode II has just joined the SEGA Forever catalog. Like other games, it can be played for free with ads, with the option to remove them by paying for the game. This updated version also has Episode Metal unlocked right away. This is an episode where we play as Metal Sonic through four stages from Episode I, and it was previously enabled only if you also had Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode I installed.
After the mixed reception of the first episode, Sonic 4 Episode II was seen as a major improvement over the original, with game physics that were more fitting for a 2D game, more creative stages and bosses, and an interesting gameplay mechanic involving Tails.
