Data Discs recently announced that it will soon release a vinyl record containing music from Sonic the Hedgehog CD, which is already available for preorder.
The first question everyone must be asking is: Which versions of the songs will be included on the album? The American or the Japanese versions? The original soundtrack from the Land of the Rising Sun was chosen, as it is preferred by most fans and was composed by Naofumi Hataya and Masafumi Ogata. The tracks will be grouped into stages, with sides A and B containing the Present music, side C the Good Future, side D the Past, and side E the Bad Future. Side F will be an etching.
Data Discs had already made albums for other SEGA games, such as the classic Altered Beast.
The albums will contain three art prints, liner notes by Naofumi Hataya, and a custom etching design. A download code for digital versions of the tracks will also be provided. The album will be released in three editions, distinguished by the colors chosen for the records (as seen in the cover image).
Preorders can be placed until June 17, and shipments will begin in September 2019.
