Sonic Mania is the sensation of the moment, with many people enjoying the hedgehog's new adventure. But one boss in Flying Battery Zone caught a fan's attention. From his perspective, Eggman's sprite could be interpreted as a girl with spiky hair and a peculiar bandana. She is being given the names ‘Omelette,’ ‘Eggatha,’ and ‘Ovoid Robotnik’!
Artist Alpha Gamboa, the fan who spotted this hidden character in Eggman's sprite, soon let his imagination run free and created several pieces of fan art.

Omelette quickly caught everyone's attention on Twitter, including that of artists who worked on Sonic Mania, Sonic comic artists, and SEGA itself. As a result, fan art of her began exploding everywhere. Fans even categorized what she might represent in the Sonic series' canon: Eggman's beloved niece.
