The "Saldão Maluco," as the organizers at Sorocaba's World Games store call it, takes place near Children's Day. The annual event is already well known and attended by many game enthusiasts from the city and the surrounding region.
As its name suggests, the sale serves as a "stock clearance" for the store, with dramatically reduced prices, including new releases at discounts of up to 70%. Games available at the store will cost from R$9.99 to R$99.99 each for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Wii U, and the handheld 3DS. Depending on stock, this may include the latest releases for those video game systems, such as Marvel's Spider-Man, Forza Horizon 4, and God of War, or established market successes such as PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and games from the Mario franchise. For previous generations such as PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii, three games will be available for R$99.99 or one for R$39.99, for example.

On October 6 and 7, there will also be a purchase limit of six PS4 games per person so that later attendees still have a chance to find the most sought-after games. The fact is that lines for the event, which has been organized for several years, are usually very long, making it impossible to find the most sought-after new releases after a few hours, even with high inventory levels.
Marcelo Camparini, who has been responsible for the store since it opened, says that batches of some new releases are saved for October 7, giving the first customers in line a chance to find their favorite titles. Camparini also advises visitors to arrive as early as possible on Saturday, October 6, because close to opening time the line should extend several meters from the store. For the first time, the first person in line on Saturday will receive a game as a prize.
With releases available such as FIFA 19, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Detroit: Become Human, Sonic Mania, Mega Man X: Legacy Collection, Amiibo figures, the PlayStation 4 Pro console, Nintendo Switch, and others, the World Games store is located at Av. Barão de Tatuí, 1588, in the Campolim neighborhood. The store's opening hours during the sale are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
