Splatoon 2 will have its final Splatfest, the event’s 26th edition, two years after the release of the game. Splatfests are monthly events that ask players to choose between two options, such as dogs and cats, ketchup and mayonnaise, action and comedy, ninjas and pirates, and other themes.
Nintendo posted a video promoting the event:
Unlike the first game, in which the final event asked players to choose their favorite Squid Sister, Splatoon 2 opted not to create a “character war.” The chosen theme to close this cycle is “Chaos vs. Order.”
Regarding the Off the Hook group’s division on the subject, “Chaos” will be represented by Pearl and “Order” by Marina. According to the official art, the Squid Sisters may also be involved, with Callie on “Chaos” and Marina on “Order,” even if that detail appears only in the illustration.

The Splatfest will begin on July 18 and last 72 hours, longer than usual for these events. The end date, July 21, will coincide with the game’s release date.
Although this is the final event, Splatoon producer Hisashi Nogami announced that a new update will arrive after the Splatfest, bringing the game to version 5.0 and allowing players to create private Splatfests. The special Splatfest arenas, including nighttime versions of existing arenas, will be playable in this mode.
It is worth remembering that there was nothing similar in the previous game. This may indicate that a sequel is not in the plans, since the developers intend to keep the community active.
