It appears that Stories International, established by SEGA, will partner with Circle of Confusion, producer of The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead, which has also produced TV series such as The Walking Dead, Powers, Outcast, and Dirk Gently. They have also worked on films such as Spare Parts, American Ultra: Armed and Dangerous, and Mr. Right. One of its employees is executive producer David Engel, who produced Straight Outta Compton - The Story of N.W.A. The interesting part is that the Variety article from which the information comes specifically lists Altered Beast and Streets of Rage as titles the company would be working on.
“These are some of SEGA's most beloved games, and we are excited to work with Stories to adapt them into major film and television franchises” - Lawrence Mattis, producer at Circle of Confusion
In case you did not know, Stories International announced some time ago that it wouldmake films or TV series based on SEGA game franchises, including Shinobi with Marc Platt, Golden Axe, Virtua Fighter, The House of the Dead, Rise of Nightmares, and Crazy Taxi. Although we have been hearing about these adaptations for quite some time, we still have not seen what will come of them. Will the films be good? Does having the producer of The Walking Dead on board inspire confidence? Tell us in the comments.
