Following the announcement of Super Mario Maker 2 in a Nintendo Direct at the beginning of the year, the game finally received a release date. The date, which had previously only been specified as sometime in June, has now been confirmed by Nintendo on its social media as June 28.

In a post in Portuguese on its Facebook page, Nintendo commented:
Let's-a Go! Let your imagination run wild as you create and play the Super Mario courses you have always dreamed of. Super Mario Maker 2 arrives on #NintendoSwitch on June 28!
It is important to note that the date will fall after E3, which will take place from June 11 to 13, where the company usually holds a digital conference in the form of a Nintendo Direct and also presents its announcements to the public in the event space.
Nintendo had previously commented that there are still many unrevealed features in the title. The multiplayer function itself, which is suggested in the trailers and official artwork, was barely explained. With that in mind, much of this new information can be expected to be revealed during E3, which will take place around two weeks before the game's release.
