Many awards around the world choose the year's best games, but The Game Awards is unquestionably the most widely recognized. The list of nominees was announced this Tuesday, along with the event date: December 6, with the broadcast beginning at 11:30 p.m. Brasília time. Everyone will be able to watch directly through the event's official YouTube channel.

This year, six games are nominated for Game of the Year, while several titles are competing across multiple categories: God of War and Red Dead Redemption 2 have eight nominations each, and Marvel's Spider-Man has seven. Assassin's Creed returns to prominence at the awards, as does the unprecedented and deserved recognition given to the Monster Hunter franchise.
