Tunnel Rush is a free game developed by English studio Deer Cat Games. It is a first-person racing game that uses three-dimensional graphics.
There was recently an update to Tunnel Rush that improves the graphics. Very simple in concept, you run through tunnels and must avoid the obstacles that appear until you reach the end of the stage, which is indicated by a graph at the top of the screen.
Two things stand out in Tunnel Rush: the number of stages, 100 in total after the update, and the excellent soundtrack. There is also an effort to vary the settings, while the obstacles are geometric shapes that you simply have to avoid.
As expected, the stages become more difficult as you progress: the first ones are easy, while the last ones can be real challenges. In addition, the game lets you choose three difficulty levels: easy, medium, and hard, with the last being quite challenging.
All stages are very short, and one directly continues from the previous one, to the point that a graph in the upper-left corner shows how many meters you have traveled from the beginning of the first stage to your current position.
The upper-right corner shows the number of meters per second at which you are running, and you become faster as you manage to avoid obstacles more efficiently.
The main menu has a stage-selection system so you can return to a previous stage to practice your skills or resume from where you stopped.
Tunnel Rush is a very simple game: a first-person race in which you must avoid obstacles, visibly well made even within such a simple concept. It is the typical “viral” game made for carefree fun and to “kill time.”
