After the release of Watch Dogs 2 in 2016, news and updates about a new title in the series had been very quiet. At the time, Ubisoft promoted the idea that Watch Dogs would be one of its most powerful titles in terms of graphics, which ended up creating controversy when the downgrade was revealed in the final version. However, it is possible that the new title in the series may reach all of that potential.

YouTuber Skullzi recently managed to find and access a patent registration for Watch Dogs 3, created in December 2018. The registration does not currently contain much relevant information, but there is one detail that may catch the attention of fans and enthusiasts of the series: the next game in the franchise would be released for the next generation, that is, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett, as they were being called.

Now all that remains is for fans to wait for more news about this new title, to see whether it will also be available for the current generation of consoles as well as the future generation, and when it will be announced. With E3 2019 approaching, this would be the ideal time to excite fans about a new game in the series.
